Leisure is a biannual publication, with our first ever edition slated for digital release in the Fall of 2026.

Anthropocene, shaped by the dominant ideology of growthism, points us toward a reality at odds with the natural world, of which all of humanity is part. Amid the climate crisis, this reckless, destructive worldview faces growing challenges from a set of social philosophies from around the globe increasingly in dialogue with one another. Yet growthism still dominates the global political imagination, leaving little room for post-growth thought to gain cultural traction. Too often, these ideas stay confined to academic journals and activist circles, rarely reaching broader cultural conversation.

Leisure seeks to create an open, accessible space where the culture and ideas of a post-growth world can be explored and celebrated across a wide range of forms—short fiction, political theory, poetry, memoir, agroecological how-to, policy proposals, and more. We hope that this space can serve several purposes: inspiration, instruction, community, reflection, understanding, organizing, catharsis, and the collective imagining of a more livable future.
